I personally never will buy a Manual Car voluntarily (I drive currently manual)

The traffic in Chennai is much more disciplined than Delhi where I drive. Because of traffic everyone apart from me owns an automatic Car in our family. I'll drive nothing but a manual though.

I swear, developing countries have the most predictable traffic. It sounds insane but my 20+ hour road trip with my relatives in the Philippines was less exhausting than my daily commute to work 60 minutes round trip in Detroit years ago.

There is no purpose in the video and there is no mention of place in the description also. If I guess from under construction pillars , it appears Arcot Road in Chennai Vadapalani or some other broken erstwhile wider roads of Singara Chennai only. If it is chennai, it means a madness of multiverse and also with madness of self pride and parking vehicles on both left and right sides occupying nearly 30% of width leaving just breathing gap for moving vehicles. There may be best drivers but worst drivers are majority in TN especially rash driving . This is fate of all TN towns. If you really want to check your driving prowess, take on ECR to 100 ft Byepass and move to Pondy cuddalore road at Mudaliar pet to Aaalpettai to Caper quari village outers of cuddalore. You can feel see madness of TN traffic and never certify in you life that TN are best driver. May be best driver but not best being driver. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kudos to all Manual drivers out there! 👍 I have only practiced driving in an automatic about 3 times, I just bought my first car and it is an Manual. It's amazing how much is going on between checking your surroundings, paying attention to signs and markings, the clutch and signals. 😮 Wish me luck driving a manual for the first time!

Why repeatedly blip the throttle to engage first gear? Does it make it smoother? Does it hurt the engine? Does blipping it once work just as well?

A lot of people always talk about downshifting to a stop but 99% of the time, it’s just not possible because of limited time to do it before reaching the stop sign. Especially if there’s traffic and they’re not moving at the speed you need to downshift at. Years ago, I use to just clutch in and brake to every stop sign and stop light. I didn’t realize then that I was cutting off the engine brake and using brake pads only. Nobody taught me manual. I learned how in an empty mall parking lot in the middle of the night. I pretty much just learned how not to stall it and that’s it. Fast forward, I had 3 manual cars over the years and pretty much did the same thing over and over. Clutch in and brake. Even at 60mph, clutch in and brake all the way down to the stop sign. It’s all I knew. I just got my 4th manual after not having one for over 12 years. I went straight to RUclips because I was excited to have a manual again and just wanted to watch shifting videos. Needless to say, I now let off the gas, let the engine brake kick in a bit and brake until it’s time to either clutch, downshift, rev match, and continue or clutch, stop, back to 1st.

I drive differently than all the times you say "give gas" and I never roll back, even on a hill. I hold the brake and clutch, release clutch until I feel the clutch begin to bite, then I let go of the brake and give gas while releasing the clutch the rest of the way. I learned to do this on my own, I was taught the way you're describing and always hated hills, especially when someone is behind you right on your bumper. Now I don't worry at all.
